Do your kids do their own wrapping?
Let ‘em. Let the mess begin, the tape stick to hair and tearing of the paper begin. The fun of getting a gift is great, but the pleasure of covering it, like a cherished secret, is priceless.
So much love goes into this. Care, attention, the good thoughts about the person they are wrapping for - and the anticipation of them receiving the gift.
Anyone who is overly concerned about the appearance of the paper doesn’t get this. That’s alright, the kids don’t care, they just want to enjoy it - and share in the every part of the Holiday Bliss of giving.
It’s going to get thrown away anyway, but the memory and the magic never will.
great idea, Christina. Too often we're concerned with the PERFECT, tidy Christmas. Not me. So, one day when my kids actually buy or make their own presies, they can wrap them too.
